EDUCATION

   
 

Cantonment Board is rendering free primary education to the children of Cantonment. The Board maintains 2 primary schools and 2 Junior High Schools. Apart from this one Girls' Inter College is also being maintained by the Board with aid from the State Govt. The fee charged in the Girls' Inter College is as prescribed by the State Govt.
   
 

CITIZENS RESPONSIBILITIES

   
  Citizens are advised to follow the guidelines detailed below.
   
 
1.
To apply well in advance before start of the session to get the admission of their children in Cantonment Board Primary Schoolss.
 
2.
To follow the rules and regulations of the institutions.
 
3.
To send their kids to the schools in proper uniform and in time.
 
4.
To keep regular watch on the performance of their kids with regard to the study.
 
5.
Any complaint from school's side may be brought to the notice of the Cantonment Executive Officer.
 
6.
It is the responsibility of the parents to teach their children to maintain the school decorum and in case any student breaks the same, his name may be struck off from the strength of the schools, for which the parents shall only be responsible.
   
  ROADS AND DRAINS
   
 

The Cantonment Board, Dehradun has 42.89 km road, 41.11 km drains. It carries out repairs, maintenance and widening of the roads as and when necessary within the resources available. The road terms of some of the roads have also been provided with pavements for safety and convenience of the public. Retro-reflective signboards are installed and thermo-plastic paints have been applied on road surface to indicate directions, cautions for the safety and convenience of the public.

   
 

The citizens can contact the Junior Engineer for redressal of grievances on all working days during working hours. The rectification and repairs shall be carried out as per prevailing rules and regulations within the resources available.

   
 

CITIZENS RESPONSIBILITIES

   
 
1.
It is citizens duty and responsibility to cooperate the Cantonment Board Dehradun in keeping the Cantonment Parks neat and clean without littering them, while they visit them.
 
2.
Not to scatter garbage in the parks & public places as it pollutes the environment.
 
3.
Empty containers/packages and peels of eatables should be dropped in dustbins provided for the purpose in the parks & public places.
 
4.
Uprooting plants and plucking of flowers in the parks is prohibited and is punishable with fine.
 
5.
Carrying drugs/liquor and its consumption is strictly prohibited.
 
6.
Pets are not allowed in the parks.
 
7.
Do not disturb the environment of the parks.
 
8.
Use pedestrian tracks, while walking in the parks.
 
9.
Do not roam in the barred area.
 
10.
Stop the persons damaging grass and plants of the parks. Inform Cantonment Board Office immediately, if any one is found doing so.
 
11.
Cooperate in tree plantation programmes launched in the Cantonment time to time.
 
12.
Each family should adopt at least one tree in a year.
 
13.
Do not allow any one to damage tree guards and inform the Cantonment Board, Dehradun about the violators.
 
14.
Citizens are required to co-operate with the Horticulture staff in carrying out their works in the parks and not to interfere.
