  CITIZENS CHARTER  
     
 

The Cantonment Board, Dehradun was established in 1913 to cater to municipal needs and provide civic administration to the people residing in the Cantonment. Dehradun Cantonment comprises of an area of 5203 acres including 939.30 acres of private land. As per census 2001, the total population is 59,099. It is a Class I Cantonment conwsisting of 8 wards. The Board functions in accordance with the Cantonment Act, 2006.

 
 

Presently, Brig. S H Kulkarni, VSM, Sub Area Commander, UA Sub Area, Dehradun is the President Cantonment Board. Shri Guru Prasad Tiwari is the nominated member of the Cantonment Board. As the Board is in a varied state, there are presently no elected Members.

 
 

The CEO who is also the Member-Secretary of the Board, is appointed by Central Govt. from Indian Defense Estates Services (Central Services) and presently Shri Ravi Shankar, IDES is holding the post of CEO of Dehradun Cantonment.

 
 
Keeping with its tradition of dedicated service to its residents, the Cantonment Board has been discharging its duties in tune with the changing times for overall development of the Cantonment.
 
     
 

CONSTITUTION

 
     
  The Cantonment Board Dehradun is a Class-I Cantonment Normally, the Constitution of the Board is as under:-

President
:

The Officer, commanding the station Dehradun.

2.
Secretary
:

The Cantonment Executive Officer.

3.
Two ex-officio members
:

The Health Officer and Executive Engineer.

4. Seven elected members : Elected from all the 8 wards of the Cantonment.
5.
Four nominated members
:
3 Military Officers nominated by name by the officer commanding the station and an Executive Magistrate not below the rank of Additional District Magistrate nominated by the district magistrate.
