1. |
No animal shall graze on any land which is under the control of the Cantonment Board within the limits of the Cantonment except at such places as may be set apart from time to time by the Cantonment Board for the purposes and which have been publicly notified to be such places. |

No person shall graze any animal on any land under the control of the Cantonment Board set apart for the purpose unless he possesses a pass or permit authorizing him to do so for a specified area. |

3. |
The owner, or the person in charge of an animal grazing on any land under the control of the Cantonment Board, set apart for the purpose, shall be bound to keep it under proper care and control. On no account shall the animal be halted on roads.

4. |
Any animal which is not under the proper care and control of a person possessing a pass or permit under byelaw 2, found grazing on any land under the control of the Cantonment Board shall be liable to seizure by any servant of the Cantonment Board, and to be sent, within twenty-four hours, to the nearest pound. |

5. |
Grazing between hours of sunset and sunrise shall not be permitted. Any animal found grazing during these hours should be dealt with as provided by byelaw 4. |

6. |
Owners of animals, or graziers, shall not permit their animals to damage young trees, shrubs, hedges or plants, or any property belonging to Government or to the Cantonment Board. |

7. |
Owners or graziers shall at once report the occurrence of any disease among their animals to the Executive Officer who shall, if necessary, close or restrict the grazing area covered by their passes in order to prevent the spread of disease, or take such steps as he may deem fit to take, on the advice of a Veterinary Officer. |

8. |
Every owner, grazie or person in charge of animal permitted under byelaw 2 to graze animals on land under the control of the Cantonment Board set apart for the purpose, shall carry his pass or permit with him and produce it for inspection when called upon to do so by an officer or servant of the Cantonment Board in this behalf. |

9. |
No animal shall be taken to graze without being under proper and adequate control at all times, including the period when cattle are being driven to and from grazing areas. |

10. |
No person under the age of 14* shall be in charge of any cattle permitted to graze. |
|
|
11. |
No person shall be in charge of more than 50* animals at any time. |

12. |
Any person committing a contravention of any of these byelaws shall, on conviction by a Magistrate, be punishable with fine, which may extend to one hundred rupees and in case of a continuing contravention with an additional fine which may extend to twenty rupees for every day during which such contravention continues after conviction for the first such contravention. |
