  REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS
   
 
Cantonment Board, Dehradun maintains the registers of births and deaths in the prescribed form by the State Govt. authorities. The fees/charges are levied for issuing birth/death certificate as per state Govt. norms. The CEO, Cantonment Board has been designated as the Registrar of Births & Deaths occurring in the Cantonment area. Citizens are required to submit the information to the CEO, Cantonment Board, Dehradun regarding birth or death in the prescribed form supplied by the Cantonment Board free of cost. The information should reach the CEO within the prescribed period of time i.e. 21 days from the occurrence of birth or death. The registration can be done without late fee as prescribed. Late registration can be done after submission of the prescribed form along with an affidavit showing the reasons for delay in submission of the information in time and request for the registration for birth or death, as per the rules prescribed by the State Govt.
   
 
BIRTH AND DEATH CERTIFICATE CHARGES
   
 
1.

Registration fee of Charge - if the report is submitted within 21 days from the date of Birth /Death.

 
2.

Certificate charges- Rs.10/- each.
 
3.

Late Fees - Rs.5/- after 21 days up to 1 year & Rs 10/- after one year.

 
4.

Searching Fees - Rs.2/- (for each year).

   
 

CITIZENS RESPONSIBILITIES

   
 
1.
Citizens are required to submit to the Cantonment Executive Officer, Dehradun, the information regarding birth or death within the stipulated period as mentioned in the preceding paragraphs.
 
2.
Any contravention of the provisions of rules published by the State Govt. with regard to registration of birth or death shall be punishable with fine as provided therein.
